Events

Whether you live in the Twin Cities or in another state, consider a visit to the U's Twin Cities campus. Becoming acquainted with on-campus happenings is a great way of understanding and participating in your student's college experience. There is always something happening on campus, and a variety of activities from which to choose. Check out these upcoming events before you start assembling that itinerary for your next campus visit!

Orientation Events

New student orientation runs from June 9 through July 16. Consider participating in the Parent Orientation Program, sponsored by the Orientation & First Year Programs Office, while your student is in his or her orientation session.

The two-day event includes workshops and information sessions on financial aid, residential life, the greek community, and more. The Orientation & First Year Programs website is a good source for additional information and registration.

Student Community Events

Your student will have many opportunities to participate in events, both campus-wide and at the student community level.

Arts Events

From the visual arts to theater and dance, the University hosts many events for lovers of the arts. The Katherine E. Nash Gallery hosts works of art by students and faculty as well as touring exhibits. The School of Music's website has an events calendar, which includes upcoming music performances relating to the school. The Department of Theatre and Dance publishes a complete guide to theatrical performances, as well as dance performances.

The Fredrick R. Weisman Art Museum, located on the U's East Bank, has an impressive permanent collection. It also hosts a changing schedule of exhibits and other cultural events. See current shows.
