The Numbers Behind Our Success

The College of Liberal Arts is the college of choice for so many reasons. Here are just a few:
  • 80% of fall 2004 freshmen graduated in the top 25% of their high school class

  • 4- and 5-year graduation rates have doubled in the past decade

  • CLA faculty received 104 research awards totaling $17,291,589 in FY04

  • 13.9% of all CLA students (graduates and undergraduates) are students of color

  • CLA offers 584 courses in 30 languages

  • 1,785 CLA students are enrolled in Honors

  • CLA's 30 departments offer 62 undergraduate degrees in the social sciences, arts, and humanities

  • CLA faculty make up 35% of the University's Regents Professors and 34% of the members of the President's Academy of Distinguished Teachers
