Online Resources for Parents

The University provides you, the parent, with valuable online resources. This page links you to a wealth of information on financial aid, housing, career services, and more.


University Parent
This site supplies a broad range of information for University parents. Whether your student is prospective, newly-admitted, or already attending, this is a great resource. It includes links to many topics of interest including other University sites, University calendars, contact information, commencement information, and definitions of University lingo.

Office of Admissions
The Office of Admissions can provide information on the admissions process, including deadlines, events, costs, aid, and scholarships. Their "For Parents" may be especially helpful in answering your questions.

Financing College
On this page the Office of Student Finance answers many questions you may have about funding your student's college experience, including financial aid application and status, tuition and fees, and education tax benefit.

Orientation and First-Year Programs
The Orientation and First-Year Programs web links your student with opportunities to find balance in his or her academic, co-curricular, and social life - all the way through graduation. The site features current and upcoming events for first-year students, first-year stories, advice from current students, ways to get involved, and more.

Prospective Undergraduate Students
This site provides prospective undergraduate students with an overview of CLA's requirements and opportunities.

Information on Housing and Residential Life
Housing prepared this page specifically for University parents. It includes information on the many housing options and detailed safety information. The University Parent Room and Board page includes additional housing information. Their Workshop page links to numerous online presentations that will be helpful if your student considers moving to an apartment.

Study Abroad
Is your student interested in studying abroad? Or are you interested in study abroad for your student? This Learning Abroad page is designed for you.

Career Services
Interested in career services available to your student? This Parents and Family page will show you the many resources and programs available.

Looking for Advice from Other Parents?
Find advice from other parents on this Voices of Experience page. Hear from parents who have been where you are now, including those sending their child off to college for the first time.

Alumni Association
After graduation, your student will be eligible for the University Alumni Association. See some of the benefits of belonging to this organization.

Counseling and Consulting Services
The University helps your student stay physically, emotionally, and academically healthy. Services include personal and career counseling, as well as individual and group academic skills assistance.

Take a look at some of the Campus Calendars to get an idea of what is happening on campus. Find dates and deadlines for just about anything you or your student is interested in or will need to know.
